Christmas Eve is my Dad’s birthday! We celebrate every year with a birthday breakfast and in the evening with a family dinner. Then we transition to my Dad celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Dad reads the story of the nativity to the entire family.
For many people today is the day to make last minute shopping trips, wrap presents, and prepare meals. Some people are starting the family visits and others are going to midnight Mass. The children are anxious and awaiting the arrival of Santa. With all of the last minute actions don’t forget the purpose of Christmas and say a prayer of thanks that God chose to become one of us to reconcile each of us to God.
Christmas Eve is a celebration in anticipation for the birth that changed the course of the entire world, let’s not forget that!
