Extremely Lit up House
Have you been out to look at the Christmas decorations and lights yet this Christmas season? My family loves looking at the houses that go over board, like the one above. We are simple in my house, we have a tree and nativity and some special decorations and if we are feeling really energetic we will put out garland and lights on the gutters. Part of the Christmas feeling is seeing the show of lights. It is so eventful and inviting.
Do people go overboard, definitely! However, many people invite you into their lives by saying look at my house, I want you to see, I love Christmas! It makes you wonder are those people lost in the materialistic and secular side of Christmas? Is it all about the lights and the plastic figures and how many they can fit into their crowded little yard? Or is it about saying you believe in Christ at Christmas time? I don’t know and we are not suppose to judge. If we would judge others about this particular topic then those of us who do not put out decorations in our front yards of any sort would be accused of not believing in Christmas. My family believes but from the outside looking in you might not know that. So we must not judge anyone. Instead just enjoy the beauty or the entertaining value of the displays. Someone worked very hard to say that Christmas is important enough to take the time to set it all up for our pleasure. Take it for what it’s worth and enjoy it!
