Easter Vigil, March 26, 2016 Saturday Tidbit

2015 Cross-CIMy middle son, Spencer, is preparing to make his confirmation this spring. It was suggested by the confirmation coordinator that each family attend the Triduum; Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil on Saturday evening. My children love the Easter Vigil. Yes, it is the longest Mass of the year, but it’s also one of the most meaningful. We hear readings that connect the Old Testament, to the New Testament. The Easter candle is lit for the year and best of all the Catechumenates will be welcomed in to the church and become new members, freshly baptized (if they have not been before), confirmed, and receive their first Eucharist. If you have not been everyone should go at least once to see the traditions of the church and to welcome the newest members, showing your support.

Consider attending an Easter Vigil tonight.
