Gifts, November 18, 2017 Saturday Tidbit

Can a gift ever truly be given in our culture? As soon as we receive a gift we are obligated to write a thank you note or return the favor by giving another gift. Jesus Christ said to give to those who cannot repay you. Love your enemies, those who will not love you back. Love, the theological virture of willing (not romantic feelings) the good of another as other. Love someone not for what you will receive in return but to do for the other.
Do we ever give true gifts? Can we start giving gifts?
