Great Day of Service Invitation, July 10, 2017 Daily Reflection

Today, the invitation goes out to 50 different local nonprofits in my community. It is an invitation to participate in the opportunity to have 35 people come from Holy Cross High School, students, staff, and teachers, they will give 8 hours in one day to help that organization. As the service coordinator I will accept 8 different agencies for the day. It is based on a first come first serve basis. Holy Cross High School takes it’s commitment to service to our community and God very serious. The Great Day of Service is an experience for the students to become aware of the nonprofit and those injustices they seek to rectify. It also helps the agency with any big projects they wish to accomplish in one day. Usually, the day is accompanied by press releases and news media, who also bring attention to the agencies.

Service is the action of theology. Love is willing the good of others. Service is love in action.
