Holy Thursday, April 13, 2017 Daily Reflection

It is Holy Week, the holiest of the Catholic Church. Holy Thursday is the beginning of the sacred Triduum in the Catholic Church. It is the day when Jesus shared his last supper with his disciples. In that meal he gave us himself. He gave us the promise that we could have eternal life in the Eucharist. He loved his friends so much that he was willing to sacrifice everything he had even his life to do his father’s will. He knelt down and washed their feet, showing each one the need to serve others and in doing so all of humanity. Jesus humbled himself in all ways as one who was sent to us by our loving creator. Jesus did it all to bring us into a deeper relationship with God the Father.
This Holy Thursday, consider how you detach yourself from this culture and draw yourself into deeper relationship with God through the love and service of your neighbors.
