I saw God, September 2, 2011 Daily Reflection

Where I saw God today

In this room I sit and watch as their wheels pass me quickly, with the parent directly behind the wheel chair. I listen as the therapist says “He has come such a long way from when we first began.” I laugh when a child giggles as he falls into his Daddy’s arms. I witness humans helping other humans some of whom are bound by wheelchairs or braces others are held back by sensory issues and other challenges. I hear their encouraging words. I see the warmth of a heartfelt hug between child and therapist.

I see God in the room, in the child struggling but growing, learning and developing. I see God in the therapist teaching, loving and growing as well. I see God in the eyes of the mom loving her child more than life itself. They; the child, therapist and parents are all children of God. They each just want to connect, communicate, love and live their lives to the fullest. In this place they have the support, kindness, education and ability to meet those goals. Today, sitting in the waiting room of Kosair Charity Kids Center I saw God.
