“Is it bad to not go to Church on Sundays?” One of my children asked me this question. I told them it is considered a mortal sin in the Catholic Church. A sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God. Anything that moves you away from God is a sin. If going to Church moves you closer to God and you don’t go then you are moving away from God. We should not go to Church simply because it is a rule. We should go to Church to listen to the scriptures, to try to find God and to take in the Eucharist, Jesus Christ into our lives to strengthen us and move us closer to God.
Yes, it is bad to not go to Church on Sunday because you would be missing an opportunity to have a better relationship with God.
