Spencer's Last Race

Spencer’s Last Race

Last night was Spencer’s last official cross country race for his grade school. He ran a great race and his team took 2nd place in the city championship. What a great way to end his grade school running career. There are so many characteristics that I adore about Spencer; one of which is how he always smiles, gives a thumbs up, or gives high fives while he is running even if he feels like he is falling apart out there. It’s also sad to think this is the end of a chapter in his life. However, next year he has plans to run for his high school. He already knows the coach, he is a good friend of our family. He is looking ahead with excitement, instead of behind with sadness.

This is the last picture I will have of my boys running as teammates. It is bittersweet. Watching them grow up is as well. The most precious blessing of my life is answering the call from God to be a mom. There is nothing in this life that gives me more joy than being their mom. I am going to miss watching them run together for the same team. What a great ride they both had in this sport together.
