Laughter is pure joy, December 5, 2017 Daily Reflection

Laughter from my children is one of the sweetest sounds to my ears! It’s as

though their joy is translated into a sound when they laugh together. I believe that joy comes from a place deep within our souls. I believe happiness is a bit more surface than joy. One can be happy because of money or food. One finds intrinsic joy when the yearning for God is touched upon and filled just a little. Joy comes from that sweet, innocent place that longs for truth, beauty, and goodness, the place that centers us, when we allow ourselves to become aware of it. Meeting the needs of God brings us joy. Meeting our human needs alone brings us happiness. The purest laughter sounds like an expression of a deep abiding joy from God.
