Lower Expectations, April 10, 2017 Daily Reflection

Expectations of others can be disappointing. We have a dialogue in our minds about how others should answer our questions, react, and help. The problem with these expectations is that they are not realistic. We cannot expect others to behave the way we would behave because they are not us. In a parenting situation it is normal to have expectations. However, as one adult to another we have no way of knowing or understanding how that person will react or what they are thinking. The sooner we stop having expectations and just accept where others are the better we are in life.

The only thing we can control in this life is our reactions and thoughts within. Today, practice lowering your expectations and control your own reactions.
