My peace, my serenity, my smiles, my joy; this is my dogwood tree in my front yard. I can’t help but point it out to everyone who comes to my house. Each year it only blooms for a few weeks and I treasure each time I look out my front door. It’s almost odd that nature can give me such peace but it literally makes me relax to look at my dogwood tree.
Today, find a dogwood tree, a blossoming flower, a cloud in the sky or a sunset and take the time to let it sink into your heart and give you peace as well.
Lori, enjoy…The Legend of the Dogwood:
In Jesus’ time, the dogwood grew to a stately size and a lovely hue. It was strong and firm it’s branches interwoven for the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen. Christ made a promise which still holds good. Never again shall the dogwood grow large enough to be used for a cross. Instead it shall have blossoms like the cross for all to see. Blood stains the petals and the center wears a thorny crown. All who see it will remember Christ crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree. Cherished and protected this tree shall be a reminder to all of my agony.
