Children playing “church”

On the 4th grade field trip to Frankfort, KY we visited a history museum. One section had a small church set up. Our 4th graders wanted to play church. A few called out “I want to be the priest!” They sat down in the pews and then stood up and started singing.

The fact that our children wanted to play church means they have been to church enough to be able to imitate it. They go every Wednesday with the school. Hopefully more go on the weekends with their parents. I thought it was a very good sign that they wanted to play “Church”.

This weekend take your children to church so they become familiar enough with it that they want to play “church”. I can’t think of anything more important for our children than to help save their souls for eternity. Can you?
