Chapter 2
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Hey God, It’s me Lori,
You know my thoughts and wants,
You know my calling in life is to be a mom
And I have a wonderful husband
please grant me the request to have a family.
Preparing for a Baby…
Now you will think I am crazy but as of my sophomore year in High School at Mercy Academy (an all girl’s Catholic High School) I had my mind made up that I would preserve and keep my body pure from smoking, drugs and alcohol so that I would be ready to carry a healthy baby when I got married in the future of course. I did not hang out with people who believed the same as me. After all I was in high school but they didn’t do anything over the top either. Like most girls I had a high school boyfriend that I thought I would marry THANK GOD THAT WAS NOT THE PLAN!
After high school I met the real love of my life, Aaron and when I realized it the very next day I broke up with my high school boyfriend and started my real adult life. I graduated from the University of Louisville and bought a small house in February of 1997 but still lived with my parents until the day Aaron and I got married on May 16, 1997. It was a beautiful wedding the way I had always pictured it not extravagant just perfect for us. Then we started our married life together. My plan was to wait at least a year after we were married to start trying for a baby. But by December of that year I was ready to try. It took six months to get pregnant, I did not use fertility drugs or have any complications, just a normal delivery with an epidural. Then my life as a Mom started…
Lori,
I enjoy reading your postings and praise and thank God for the beautiful plans He has for all Moms. I pray they all seek Him.
Prayers of love,
Brenda
