Me and my boy Spencer
Yesterday, I was talking with my son, age 15, about his image of God. He said he didn’t believe God could possibly have a gender. “We both, girls and boys, were made in God’s image. It’s just easier to pick a pronoun and use it.” I asked if he still thought of God as a man in the clouds with a beard. He said,”of course not. God is life.” I asked if he feels God’s presence often. He said, “Mom, it’s like gravity. It’s always been there. We would only know if it were gone. God’s always been there so we can’t necessarily feel it, we just know it.”
His insights make me a proud mom!
