Jake squinting at the light

Jake squinted against the light that shone upon him. He tried to open his eyes but could not. The sun was just too bright.

At different times in our lives we are blinded by the light in our eyes. We squint and try to look ahead but fail to see what is there before us just out of our reach.

There are sunrays of God falling down upon our lives all around us; words of wisdom, the word of God, sweet words whispered by a friend, new ideas and motivation to grow. All this and so much more sits right before us but we can only squint our eyes confused and blinded. We have our ways, our jobs, our comfort zone, and our same old lives. We do not want to take the time and effort to change or grow. We want to be bathed in the warmth of the sunlight but we fear walking towards it.

There are opportunities that God offers us daily. The problem is that we can’t seem to see them. God’s love and light is so bright that it can feel overwhelming and blinding.

Today, look for the light. Let it bring you warmth. Embrace the moment and be soaked in the light and seek out the opportunities God is shinning upon you.
