Have you ever noticed how we are all drawn to the light? We long for sunny days. Our spirits are raised, we have more energy and more smiles. But on the rainy, cloudy or gloomy days we seem sad, fatigued and lifeless.
How many of us are scared of the dark? We do not like the darkness of the night. My children sleep with the hall light on so they can still see at night. I remember as a child watching the shadows dance across my walls with fear of the unknown. I tell my children that what is in the darkness is the same as what is in the light but we just cannot see it. There is a comfort in the light, the warmth and the understanding of things surrounding us.
God is the eternal light, our creator, our salvation, all goodness and all love radiates from that which is God. No wonder we crave the light, we long for the sunshine, we come alive in the rays of God’s eternal Light.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
– John 1:5
