The Littlest, April 13 Daily Reflection

Jake yelling for Anna

“Wait for me! Don’t leave me behind!” yelled the littlest one.

Running across the playground playing on the pirate ships, no one wants to be left behind. Anna runs to pick up the littlest one so he will not be left behind. They run together with mulch flying, loud thuds, and 12 feet stomping across the plastic play set in a hurry to not miss the imaginary ship. They are all on board now ready to set off the bombs, sound effects and all.

Do you go back to pick up the littlest or weakest among you and carry them to safety in your life; the person at work that tries hard but can never seem to get to the meeting on time? Do you stand and hold the door open for the elderly person at the store, although you know it will make you run behind? Do you smile and lift the spirit of that disabled person that bags your groceries that everyone tries to avoid eye contact with at all cost?

In our everyday lives all about us there are opportunities to lift up the least of His people. When you are faced with the choice what do you choose?

“Amen, I say to you,

whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine,

you did for me.”

– Matthew 25: 40
