“When they had gathered together they asked him, ‘Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He answered them, ‘It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ – Acts 1: 6-8

We have this overriding concept of time. Our time is divided a few ways
1. Work productively at work, non -stop,
2. We must spend time with our family
3. We don’t have enough time to do either completely
So most of us concentrate on one or the other.
We also want to control time, like it is a possession. However, it alludes each of us. We are born at a certain time in history. We race and chase time, we run out of time, we try to make more time for work and family, and friends. We are a society that defines our lives within the concept of time. So when Jesus said to his disciples, ‘It is not for your to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority.’ The disciples were befuddled. Again Jesus was saying something that made no sense to them. They wanted the answers, the proof, and the clock that said what time it would all occur.
However, if we are people of faith then we should surrender everything even our sense of time to God.
