Types of Prayers, March 6, 2017 Daily Reflection

The Catechism says there are 5 types: Adoration and Praise, Thanksgiving, Petition, and Intercession. I find that there are more types of prayers in my prayer life.

Praise and Adoration – I do every time I see a sunset,
Thanksgiving – every night when I put my children to bed,
Petition every day when I am praying for others,
Intercession when I ask for Mary or the Saints help.
But I do more than the above. I ask not just as petition to become closer to God. I pray to God to discover his plan for my life, to become more like him, to be the vessel that he can speak through in my everyday life. I pray to know God better.
