In the midst of the challenges of life we cannot see the opportunities. It is upon reflection later in life that we see the good. In the middle of crisis we can only feel overwhelming emotions; usually pain, panic, confusion, grief, anger, or sadness. We are only human and are not able to be objective enough to see the opportunities for growth, understanding, and empathy.
Think back to a time of crisis or major challenge in your life. During it how did you react? Now, can you think of ways you have grown from this situation? What did that situation teach you? No one should be able to learn that lesson in the moment. It takes time. So, be gentle and patient with yourself and allow time to do its job. Later, pray for understanding and God will guide you through it.
