Come live in the light
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race;
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1: 1-3
As we look ahead to a new year consider that God is the alpha and the omega. God created all that is, including our own lives. Without God there would be nothing. God is the light that shines in the darkness and cannot be overcome. So stop trying to allow the darkness to blot out the light. Open your heart this new year and allow God’s light to illuminate your life and the lives of all those around you. Because although God has the power to create and to do anything, God will not take away our free will and make us love him. God will wait patiently for our love.
