Date with Aaron
Materialism in our culture is overemphasized, especially around Christmas time. We have to find the right “thing” to prove we love someone. Instead of purchasing “things” I challenge you to do something for someone. Instead of giving them a “thing” give them an experience, a time to treasure, an encounter that makes them realize you notice what matters most to them. Ideas for experiences: tickets to a play or musical, tickets to a concert, set up an unbelievable date filled with places that bring back memories, a stroll down memory lane, the possibilities should be tailored to that person’s relationship with you. It is quite a challenge but it is a gift that will last a lifetime if you do it for the other person.
great ideas…we ask our family to give to a charity of their choice and we spend time as we gather for Christmas to talk about their donation (not amount) and why they chose it…and a great teaching example for our grandchildren…
