Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity

In the beginning God already was. God is the alpha and the Omega with no beginning and no ending. At the beginning of all creation God designed the universe and all the creatures of the universe. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1: 27). “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thesolians 5:23). There has never been a time in the life of humanity of just the body or just the soul. Our bodies and souls are intertwined. Each human being was created in God’s likeness. Archbishop Father Robert Barron talks of the image of God not as our physical being but our abilities; our intelligence, free will, and ability to love. God who is not just characterized by love but who is love sent Jesus Christ to the world so that we may understand God from a human perspective.

God, the father and Jesus Christ the son in community with the Holy Spirit; who surges from the relationship of the father and the Son, together propel our lives. The Holy Spirit spills through us, “In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groaning’s. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will” (Romans 8:26-27). The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in our hearts, souls, and everyday lives to help us to be closer to God at all times.  “ For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want” (Galatian 5:17). There cannot be a division of the body and the spirit, St. Paul wrote about the flesh opposing the spirit, however we should never oppose either. It is holistic spirituality to accept our entire being as intertwined; both body and soul united in all works and endeavors of reality. Christian Spirituality is in part living the acknowledgement of our united body and soul propelled by the Holy Spirit caressed by the Father, enriched by Christ, driven to reunite to Jesus Christ. Holistic Spirituality is the understanding that the two elements of our being cannot be polarized, we cannot live only by our physical needs, nor can we live only by our spiritual desires. God created us to live wholly.
