It’s all about the relationship: will she listen, will he be friendly, will she care, and will he look right through me?
At lunch or the bank, the grocery store, the clerk, the server do they make eye contact, do they care, and are they with you? Are they bored and disgruntled or open and willing to be kind?
Who do you care for the person who looks at you and asks sincerely how you are or the person who never utters a word and only does their job? What is their job? If you go above and beyond and try to make relationships you will gain loyalty? If you get them in and out like a factory line there will be no real connection and they may never return.
Take your time because the time you take makes a relationship.
It’s all about relationship, with Him and each other! Time. Personally I am learning to simplify and slow down. I was just talking to my husband last night about this very thing. I wonder how many missed opportunities we have in our lifetime as we rush and fail to connect with others? How much of an impact does a small act of kindness render? 🙂
