Tamsen & Terry’s Wedding Cake

The rose pedals were dropped with care by the flower girl, the vows were said with tenderness and commitment, the cake was waiting to be cut, and the couple was on their way to a new beginning. This couple decided to begin their married life with the sacrament of marriage. They stood in a church before God, their family, friends and a priest and asked for God to join the two of them as one for a lifetime. They promised to love each other unconditionally. We as their family and friends agreed to support them in any way possible to strengthen their marriage.

Marriage is a lifetime commitment. My parents have been married for 45 years and they have set an excellent example of a realistic marriage. They are still in love. They argue sometimes but they are very respectful of each other. They have never called each other names or insulted the other person. They know that true love must be nurtured and developed. Love is not a fleeting feeling but a commitment that must be worked on daily. Sometimes it is easy to put that other person first and sometimes it is the hardest thing you will ever have to do.

The couple must now take all the examples from their own lives, their faith and love for each other and nurture their marriage. May God bless and guide their marriage through the good times and bad until death do they part.
