My Mission Statement, April 19, 2018 Daily Reflection

As many of you know I am in a Spiritual Direction Internship. It is a 9 month program filled with reading excellent books, attending weekly classes, meeting with my own spiritual directees, peer supervision, my own spiritual direction, retreats, thinking, praying, and coming to new understandings about faith, life, people, and God. It has been an amazing internship. This weekend is the close of the program. I hope to be certified on Sunday!

The last assignment was filled with deep thoughts and processing the experiences we have encountered. Part of the closing retreat process is to write a mission statement for our Spiritual Direction goals.

My Mission Statement
I desire to please God with my life by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through me, allowing me to listen with loving compassion, to actively help others recognize the divine spark within and, to give others what God has so generously given to me, unconditional love.

It feels good to write a mission statement. It gives one pause to reflect on the trajectory of one’s life and desires. If you had to write a mission statement what would it say?
