Me and my Man
Twenty three years ago today he called and asked if I wanted to hang out. I said, “I have homework, but I think I can get it finished quickly. Now, you know this isn’t a date, right?” He said he knew it was not a date. It was most certainly a date! We rode too fast in his little black GTI Rabbit. I told him everything I could think of that might repel him about my life. I wanted to make sure I put all my cards on the table so he could run before he got in too deep. We stopped by Dairy Queen for strawberry shakes and chicken strip baskets. I had butterflies in my stomach and a permanent smile on my face. We laughed and talked the entire time. When he dropped me off I gave him a hug good night, I didn’t want to give him the wrong impression. The impression that I was completely smitten by him, which I was. After the first date I never had another date with any other guy again and I was blessed that I no longer had to have other dates because I found my soul mate. I had no idea how much my love would or could grow over the years. I am completely smitten, head over heals in love with my soul mate. I thank God he asked me out on our 1st date, even if I refused to call it that.
Happy 23rd Anniversary Aaron, you are the love of my life and I thank God for you every day!
