What must we give? September 25, 2013 Daily Reflection

Service; washing the feet of others.

What must we give? How must we serve? What must we do? How much does God require of us in this lifetime? Can’t we just do whatever we please and by his forgiveness gain redemption by the blood of Christ?

It says so many places in the Bible that the shepherd will leave the 99 sheep to look for the 1 lost sheep. God will always go after the sinner. So, why be righteous? Why try to be close to God if in the end God will take us back anyway? Why not live a life of sin, lust, greed and domination rather than humility, service, goodness and kindness?

Sin is anything that removes us from God. It is anything that blocks that relationship. Those trying to do the right thing, those who love God and want to be close to Him all the days of their lives know that this is the better way and they don’t begrudge being left by God when God seeks out the sinner. No one is guaranteed a place in Heaven, NO ONE! It is by the grace and mercy of God that God lets us have eternal life.

I want to be close to God. I want to do everything I can to serve God on this earth. I want to listen to God’s voice, follow His commands and be the person He created me to be. My desire is to please God with my life as a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, writer, teacher and speaker. I want to bring people to God and spread the word of God. I understand that my relationship with God gives no guarantee that I will go to heaven because it is up to God alone.

I also understand that God hunts for the sinners and tries to love them back to Him and his goodness, sometimes to no avail. I never want to be separated from God. I have no desire to let me life be led by other gods; money, greed, lust, gluttony, deceit, power or anything else. I have one God and one God alone and I pray that God leads me in His ways forever until one day He has mercy on my soul and if it is His will He allows me to live all eternity with Him.

So then what must we give? Everything. What must we do? Whatever God requires of us in this lifetime. What does God require in this lifetime? God requires us to give our lives to Him by loving God, others and spreading His life to the ends of the earth.
